NScessity Wireless Video Camera Monitor 1.8" RSS
A video monitor with a good range - this is well worth a look.
Expert review
If you have decided to go down the
Video Monitor road, then this one is well worth a look. As a 'Video'
Monitor this has a range of 150 metres (unobstructed) and as purely an
'Audio' Monitor, a range of up to 300 metres (unobstructed).
The
monitor itself can be wall mounted or simply placed on a flat surface,
either way the camera head can be fully rotated to find the best view.
During
the night the infra red camera will give you and excellent view on the 1.8 inch colour monitor. The monitor can be set to only alert you
when the baby stirs.
There
is an option to set up three more cameras to the system allowing you to
monitor up to four rooms at one time. In this mode, you can manually
switch between cameras or use the 'auto scan' function which will
scroll between locations.
Both units can be powered by mains; the parent unit has the option of rechargeable batteries which are included. The parent unit features both volume and brightness adjustment.
If you want a slightly larger monitor, take a look at the 2.5" version from NScessity. For something a little cheaper, take a look at the Summer Infant Hand Held Video Monitor.

This is singularly the worst piece of equipment I have seen. If your house has no walls, ceilings or floors, this will work brilliantly. However, if like every single house I've ever seen it does and you would like to use this downstairs it will not work. For the price you'd be better off employing someone to sit in your child's room and notify you if they wake up. The manufacturuer professes that the range is something up to 100metres but I can't imagine when you would be in a room that is 100metres wide with absolutely nothing to get in the path of the signal. I can only imagine that the professional reviewers tested this product from about a foot away where it works fine. Clearly they did not go into another room. DO NOT BUY!
