Quinny Buzz RSS

The Buzz is the futuristic looking pushchair with the innovative 'gas cylinder' un-folding mechanism. The leader in the latest trend of 'Blokey' pushchairs the Buzz is constructed from large brushed metal tubing with the now obligatory 'soft touch' rubber handlebar. But what does it have to offer.........

One to consider

For an interesting and different looking Travel System

Expert review

With a seat unit that is only suitable from about six months, the Dreami Carrycot is really a 'must' to be able to use this from birth. Although it is compatible, don't be encouraged to add the Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix car seat as a pushchair from birth as a newborn baby should be in a position that is as flat as possible and the car seat is far from the ideal position - certainly for the first few months.

Having said that, The Buzz is a fully loaded and funky looking pushchair which should last for several years. You start out using the Dreami Carrycot (optional) which comes complete with a mosquito net, raincover, mattress, blanket and wind protector. This will last for the first few months until the baby is ready for the pushchair.

The seat itself is fitted and removed easily and can face either direction and has three reclining positions. The footrest is adjustable and the bumper-bar can either be opened or removed. The double front wheel swivels whilst the all-round suspension makes the ride smooth and comfortable. There is a generous height adjustment on the handlebar to accommodate whoever is pushing.

The Buzz is a very different looking and highly functional pushchair but it's most interesting feature can't actually be seen! The Buzz folds with a hissing sound as you squash the chassis together. To open it up again you release the locking catch and simply tap the handlebar in an upward direction. The gas sprung cylinder does the rest. Not just a gimmick, it works and works well.

There's a good deal of thought that has gone into this one and it's well worth a look. The Buzz comes complete with the 'Buzz Box' - a clip on bag at the rear of the chassis and an 'All Weather Set' which consists of a mosquito net, wind stopper and raincover.

From Autumn 2007 the Buzz will be available as either a 3 or 4 wheel model as with its sister pushchair the Maxi-Cosi Mura.

From October 2007 the Buzz will be supplied with two seat units. The second seat will be longer and will accommodate a 2 1/2 - 3 year old. It has been noted that the original seat can be outgrown by a taller baby due to the fixed position of the harness. It is expected that at some point in the future Quinny will revert to only one seat which is likely to be the longer version.

I own the quinny buzz 2008 4 wheel and got this when it first come out in january baby was born in april so has only been getting used now for 6 months the look of the pram is really nice and when i first took it out loads of people stopped me and asked where i got it from but after about 4 months the quinny logo started to come off the handle bars plus the wheels at the back are far to big when out and about shopping and has now started making a terrible creaking noise when pushing the pram. i have e-mailed quinny regarding this and have had no reply I am really disapointed over all with everything as i really fell in love with this pram and bought every accesorie possible to go with it so i really did spend a bit of money on this and now i am looking to buy a pushchair which i didn't really want to do until the baby was about one so if you are going for looks i would say yes but be prepeared to get a new pram quickly.

I am a father of 3 and bought Quinny Buzz on the strength of previous Maxi Cosi 3 wheel pram that i bought. It was literally bomb proof, and my first two children lived and abused it including the buggy board attached to it. ( Maxi cosi(Taxi) don't do prams/buggies any more as they are now selling this brand to complement their car seat range) We have now had the Quinny Buzz for 4 months, and I can truthfully say that it is very sexy and good looking but has some problems. 1. Wheelbase is too wide so difficult to maneuver around town. 2. Is difficult to fold 3. The extending handle Mechanism is crummy and prone to sticking 4. All the joints seem loose 5. Has now developed clicking joints and wants to collapse without warning with child in it !( will be contacting quinny today !) Its a good pram don't get me wrong but for the money it should be bombproof, and it isn't. I have used a £30 Mclaren that is far more robust than this. My advise is that this is a town only pram don't even contemplate showing it a bit of gravel or mud as it will either collapse or catapult your child out of it as it has too much flex in the chassis. If you live in the country go for a Jane, mamas and papas pliko range type of pram appear more rigid. It seems to me that the old fashioned looking ones tend to last longer, and believe me I'm a pushing veteran ! lol.

the quinny buzz is one of the best purchases i have made for my boy. although using the car seat on the pushchair is not ideal for long periods of time, a short trip to the supermarket doesnt hurt, especially since the carry cot is quite cumbersome and if you are struggling for boot space ( i have a 207)! the real sart bit is the folding and unfolding and the fact that the wheels can come off and make it more convinent. pushing the buggy around is abreeze and it is a dream around corners, although the width of the wheels takes a bit of getting used to. overall we are extremely impressed by it. ten points for looks, ease of use, maintainence and comfy ride!

Hi I would like to know why your expert reviewer says: "With a seat unit that is only suitable from about six months, the Dreami Carrycot is really a 'must' to be able to use this from birth. Although it is compatible, don't be encouraged to add the Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix Car Seat as a pushchair from birth." WE were looking at the Quinny Buzz in a store and the assistant demonstrated how easy it was to attach the car seat to the Quinny to make a pushchair. Why do you not recommend this for a newborn?

Im a buggy a holic!! And this is by far my favourite! I love this buggy its sooo easy to use, I have the complete system and its easy to swap from the carrycot to the car seat and the pushchair unit. I have been using it since birth, its very practical except for the back wheels are wide but now i've got used to this I dont mind. The only other problem Ive found is that the straps on the pushchair are on the small side, so I rang Quinny and they popped some free harnsess extenders in the post! I would recomend this complete system it looks stylish, I have it in capri and Im always stopped and complimented on how funky its is!

I really love this push chair but i find the only defect are the back wheels are to wide and have had some trouble getting in through some shop doors, and have had trouble on some buses and have had a couple of arguments with drivers that dont like you going in through the back door. but in every other aspect it is brilliant.

It is almost perfect, so easy to move/fold/unfold and looks really great. Little girl is very happy in it. Only downside--the back wheels are too wide to get on to London buses from the front door--have to get on from the back.
