Silver Cross 3D Pram System RSS
‘The 3D Pram System’ is definitely not the greatest name that has ever been thought of but funnily enough the Pram System part of the name really does tell you what this is.
Expert review
This is a pushchair that lays flat, is suitable from birth, faces both ways and is car seat compatible. It does all of this in style, bringing the Silver Cross name into the 21st Century.
Let’s start at the beginning. The 3D starts out laying flat with the baby facing rearwards. In this mode there is a mattress and liner which gives it the look and feel of a carrycot and cocoons the baby nicely. Silver Cross has added a ‘Soft Wrap’ to be used in this mode which is like a padded harness and finishes the lie-flat mode off nicely.
For the next stage, the mattress and liner are discarded to reveal the pushchair seat which can be adjusted to any of four positions from lay-flat to upright. As soon as you are ready, the 3D’s seat can be converted from rearward facing to forward facing in a matter of moments and the baby will be facing forward ready for a new experience.
The pushchair itself is not the lightest on the market but you have to bear in mind what you are carrying. The wheels are of a good size, and have independent suspension all round with the front wheels swivelling and lockable when required. The handle height is adjustable making this suitable for anyone who wants to push. The hood has a zip to remove the bottom section, the remainder is utilised as a sun canopy in the warmer months. A raincover and large shopping basket are also included.
There is, however, an issue with the 3D when it's in the 'pram' mode in that the foot end of the seat unit extends to a point where it may be uncomfortable to push. So before making a decision about this one, make sure that you push it in the store with the pushchair set up in 'pram' mode.
Folding is easy; once folded the 3D is compact and can be free-standing if required.
As a travel system, the 3D will take the Silver Cross Ventura Car Seat. All in all, this is an excellent pushchair that can genuinely take a baby from birth up to three to four years.

I looked at hundreds of prams and pushchairs before deciding on the 3D. I ended up buying the new Tokyo Denim colour and on arrival it looked fab! It doesn't disappoint either as i've been very happy with it (my baby is now 9 weeks). My baby didn't really like lying flat so I changed the 3D into a pushchair after only 7 weeks and she is sooo comfortable in it. I think the pram liner would probably have lasted her another few months if she wasn't so nosey and it did look very comfortable. I find the 3D easy to push, easy to fold, small enough to fit in my car boot easily and the basket is adequate for storage. The only slight complaint I have is that the brake doesn't seem to be very strong so i'm careful where I leave it. My husband would also like to add that the handles are not high enough for him even though they adjust. He is 6ft3 though! I know it's only been 9 weeks but i'm delighted with the 3D.
